MILE END STADIUM 2022
After an unexpected pause for the pandemic, the music industry rallied round to support the return of Soccer Six, this time in the form of SoccerSixfest. With help from our friends at Echotown, scores of artists, bands and celebrities were to rock up along with a new wave of influencers that had sprung up during the lockdown. As ever live music featured centrally with performances from Nick Capaldi, Muddy Elephant & Cassa – while the multi-talented bands The Chase & The Assist also performed in their football kit after The Chase had narrowly beaten The Assist in the Next Gen Soccer Six Final. But it was Soccer Six Legend Dappy of NDUBZ and his team (on the eve of a sell-out UK tour) that were to grab the main silverware from rapper Mic Righteous & his team that included his world boxing champion brother, Takaloo. Spandau Ballet’s rock star legend Steve Norman was on hand to dish out some star player awards to the girls. Abbie McCarthy, Katie Owen & Louise Schofield all shone just as brightly as the other 30 plus in attendance, and the hundreds gone before, in what was, amazingly, the 30th Soccer Six women’s event!
