Back at its spiritual home,  Soccer Six infamy was spreading around the industry. Attracting players from bands Iron Maiden, Ocean Colour Scene, The Prodigy, Space, Stereophonics, Supergrass and Reef joining Robbie and Mark Owen with Finley Quaye who won the inaugural Fastest Man in Pop. While Cerys from Catatonia presented that award the coveted Soccer Six trophy went to James who defeated holders Blur in the final. They were to blot their copybook by smashing up and setting light to the trophy – earning them a suspension from the tournament.
