Despite the huge CUP success of Italy 04 a seismic shift had happened in the celebrity football world. A call was to come from Northern Ireland from GAA legend Anthony Tohill for Cup Stars to come to the infamous Brandywell to play. Florence 04 legends Tony Hadley, Paul Young & Ian Rush were to commit as CUP added Lee Sharpe, Neville Southall, Terry Hurlock & Frank McAvennie who flew in with the squad. The Irish had requested CUP were to transfer across their star striker Frank McAvennie to the GAA team as they had no real ex-footballers. It proved pivotal as Terry Hurlock conceded two penalties, Rush replied with a brace for CUP but McAvennie was to score the winner past the amazing CUP star player Neville Southall.
